Senior Civil & Structural Engineer
Location: St. Louis, MO
Initial term: 18 months (position expected to run several years / transition to permanent)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates Civil and Structural Engineering design of factory buildings and sites used in the production of wet and dry foods. Technical expertise to include project scope creation, civil site development, building structural and enclosure systems, and management of civil, structural, and architectural design consultants to ensure that standards and expectations are met from inception to installation on a project.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
80% - Provide Civil and Structural Engineering design and review for capital projects including scope development, proposal creations for design consultants, basic design reviews, detailed design reviews, and field observations during construction. Position requires coordination of design and construction work by outside consultants to meet Company requirements and standards. A broad knowledge of civil site and structural systems are required. Also, requires strong communications skills and ability to perform well on teams.
10% - Provide civil and structural engineering technical assistance to operating facilities. Includes planning/implementing investigation and analysis in site and building issues for solutions. Requires ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.
10% - Assist in the development/modification of department technical guidelines, standards, and specifications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer, strongly preferred.
Experience (Years/Type):
5 Years minimum experience in civil or structural design (MUST HAVE).
Experience working in a multi-discipline team to deliver industrial capital projects.
Experience in industrial, federal, healthcare, higher education, entertainment, or commercial markets.
Experience with projects requiring hygienic food and industrial manufacturing is preferred.
Experience reviewing 2D drawings and 3D Models.
Skills:
Ability to multi-task across several projects at a time.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross functional teams.
Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD.
Travel:
0-30% to factories and construction sites for field data gathering, scope development, project reviews, and construction jobsite observations.
