GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
On March 1-3, 2023, 280 ASCE members from 47 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, including St. Louis Section members Alison Graves, Jordan Pettibone, and ASCE Society President-Elect Marsia Geldert-Murphey, attended the 2023 Legislative Fly-In in Washington, D.C. The event started at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill where we heard from ASCE leaders, congressmen, and our knowledgeable lobbyists. On the 2nd, members met face-to-face with U.S. Senators and Representatives on the Hill, where they shared everyday civil engineering experiences, issues briefings prepared by ASCE Government Relations team, and celebrated the successes of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructures Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). They capped off the day at a rooftop reception overlooking the Capitol!
